Comments: I was in the 50th AAA AW Bn (Army) (Twin 40mm with tank body) from Pvt. To Cpl, attached before Inchon to the 3d, Bn, 5th Marines. I was wounded on Oct 30, 1950 on road North of Seoul but Navy medic got me back to my unit the next day. We went with the 3d Bn (I think commanded by Col Litzenberg?) north for a while, then back to load for the invasion of Wonsan. One Battery of my Bn went with the Marines up until the Chinese drove all of us back. The Marines brought back ALL dead and wounded. I love the Marines! I later worked with Marines in Vietnam in '66 and '68...and my last duty was on Adm. John McCain's staff in Hawaii....Camp Smith, a US Marine posting! I served from Pvt to Sergeant First Class and from 1st Lieutenant to Major...22 years. I am proud to have served along the US Marines.

Comments: My father was a Lieutenant in the Korean War. The defense of the Peninsula and of the South Korean people is most important. May all the Korean War Veterans be blessed.

Comments: My father Ralph Rivera Jr was in the US Army and served in Korea. I think he was a Corporal and was honored with 2 Bronze Medals. He was an engineer was had build a bridge. He had a life long buddy whom he met while serving, his name was Herb Fitzpatrick. That's all I know unfortunately.

Comments: Have an SKS but didn't have a manual, thanks for providing the manual. Pray the younger American citizens will wake up to the cost of freedom. I always try an thank Viet Nam veterans because the nation didn't give them the honor they deserve.

Comments: The SKS web site is a great find for me after conducting a Google search for "SKS rifle, Chinese".
I have owned one of these rifles for many years, buying it new, still in the oil paper box. The manual was mostly in Chinese and virtually useless to me.
What a great job someone did in the description of al of the majore components and operations.
Thank you very much for your good work here.

Comments: Thank you for the information on the SKS. Now I can answer questions for folks I know beyond shooting and clearing.
WTC, no longer used US Navy rating, history: NW, GMT, WT. The "C" stands for Chief (E-7). The rate fell because of the SALT III treaty that removed certain Nuclear Items from the stockpile. Part of the 1,600+/- WT's became GMM (Gunners Mate Missile). I had retired about a year before the change took place.
