Another Murdered GI POW
The lifeless body of this Soldier
of the 21st Infantry Regiment, sprawled with four
of his comrades by the side of a road, gives mute
testimony to the probable fate of over 8,000
missing American Servicemen who lie in unmarked
graves throughout Korea.
These five GIs were captured on the
night of July 9, 1950. The North Koreans bound
their captives' hands and shot them through the
head. The men were found on July 10, after
Americans had forced the North Koreans to
retreat.
At least in the Korean War their
families were spared the sight of a Hanoi Jane
Fonda casting adoring glances at their
murderers in Pyongyang.
