Comments: My father, Luis Rascon, was in a riffle platoon during the Korean War. Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, First Marine Division (2nd platoon, I believe). His time in Korea was from August - December, 1950.
He may have been a Sgt. or platoon leader. He made it to the Chosin Reservoir battle. He was injured and suffered frostbite.
My father has since passed away. I know he was very proud of his time in the war along with the incredibly brave and determined Marines who fought along side him.
(I ordered his records through the National Personnel Records Center in March 2020 but haven’t received anything back yet. Maybe they are backed up due to the pandemic?)
Thank you, to all the service men and woman.
Please feel free to reach out.
Christina Rascon

Comments: Again, more from me. I believe you wee the commander of the "Dentist Able" while we were at Mason through Inchon at the destroyed TB Hosp. I really seem to remember the name. I also stayed in and did 40 months flying in and out of Vietnam (not a pilot) as a "route briefing intelligence officer" stationed at Clark. While I was at Clark, I also was one of the check pilots for the aero-club. This is an honor for me as I have had no contact with any one in the division since leaving Korea in 1952. I can be contacted at roycurtis@juno.com.
