The white tape was used for a multitude of purposes.

The first timeI was confronted with it was by night when we were engaged in a Relief inthe Line venture to indicate the route to be taken by sub units. Such tapeswere also of use to indicate precipitous edges for vehicular traffic.After the 27 July armistice came into effect, the demarcation of the DMZsector in front of our position had to be indicated by white tape.

As a Platoon Commander I had to take part in the placing of the tapeaccordingly.
