Lads karked on the march to river. 1953

This may well have been one of our infrequent trips to bathe in the Imjin river. I can find photos of just three visits in my two years. We smelt so badly in both summer and winter it never bothered us. Visitors from rear echelon areas, and nurses once in a quiet spot, were appalled by our aroma and would keep well away. Note the Korean laborer working in the drain we are resting in.
