The white tape was used for a multitude of purposes.
The first time
I was confronted with it was by night when we were engaged in a Relief in
the Line venture to indicate the route to be taken by sub units. Such tapes
were also of use to indicate precipitous edges for vehicular traffic.
After the 27 July armistice came into effect, the demarcation of the DMZ
sector in front of our position had to be indicated by white tape.
As a Platoon Commander I had to take part in the placing of the tape
accordingly.
