BAR on Patrol

17 April 1951.

As we drive the Chinese back just before the start of their Spring Offensive, men of the 3rd Ranger Company, 3rd Infantry Division, adjust their gear before mounting out on a dawn patrol across the Imjin River.

The patrol clearly expects trouble: they have mounted bayonets, the soldier at extreme right has a grenade launcher on his M1 and two phosphor grenades in webbing on his chest, and the BAR man has not mounted the tripod.
