History  Bert '53  On Line

North Korean Nurse

Few wounded American POWs ever saw a North Korean Aid Station, let alone an NK Nurse. Murder was the preferred North Korean method for dealing with any prisoners, let alone wounded prisoners.

About 8,000 of our POWs were either murdered off-hand or, if they survived to reach NK POW camps, died from cruelty and neglect.

Identifying murderers

PFC Roy Manring identifies four North Korean prisoneers as among those who gunned him down, along with 41 other American POWs, their hands tied behind their backs, and left for dead.
